Description
The Bakers Pride M1220X (sometimes AS-M1220X) is a genuine OEM pilot burner assembly (Natural Gas) used to ignite the main burner in various Bakers Pride pizza / deck / bakery ovens. It includes the pilot orifice and fittings and is built for reliable ignition, safety, and fitment in compatible ovens. Over time pilot burners can become clogged, weak, or worn, leading to ignition issues or flame instability; replacing with the proper OEM part ensures consistent performance.

💡 Tech Tip
-
Make sure to confirm whether your oven uses Natural Gas or LP (liquid propane). The orifice size is specific for Natural Gas; using an NG orifice with LP or vice versa can lead to unsafe flame / performance issues.
-
Clean the pilot burner regularly; carbon, grease or debris in the pilot orifice or pilot tube will degrade flame reliability.
-
After installing, observe the pilot flame: it should envelop the thermocouple / safety device properly so that the pilot sensor gets sufficient heat.
-
Check that the mounting position, alignment, and the seating of the pilot burner are correct (not too far recessed, not blocked) so ignition is instant and reliable.
📌 Note
-
Some sellers list “Nat/LP” compatibility, but often the part is supplied with only one orifice (Natural Gas) unless specified. If you have an LP oven, ensure you have the correct LP orifice & parts.
-
Always use OEM or approved equivalent parts for gas-safety components. Using the wrong pilot burner can cause delayed ignition or failures, which is not only bad for cooking but also a safety hazard.
